HISTORY / HISTORIQUE

History: Its owner Mr. Jacques Guertin proposed the project of Sanair International in 1969 on the Labor Day weekend. The original plans consisted the construction of one of the first modern Drag strip in America, a small oval and a road course. In spite of the construction strike, which prevailed during summer 69, the grandstands were complete in autumn of that year. During the first 5 years of existence, Sanair received 2 Trans-Am races and 4 Formula B/Atlantic rounds, benefitting from the financial and political problems of Mont-Tremblant racetrack. After these events, Sanair never received the visit of great series again if it’s not the races of the Molyslip Canadian championships of endurance and Walter Wolf Ford Formula championships at the beginning of the Eighty.
